Kaisley Rae Platt

I'm so Glad she's HERE!!!

Where do I even start??  Thank Heavens that's over with and things are getting back to a new normal!  I have to say a huge THANKS to all my Family and Friends, it took a small army to get this little Girl here safe and sound!  No one knew I was Pregnant and having problems when I asked a zillion people to come  help me move and get my house clean, I still don't know how I didn't miscarry during all the chaos and stress of moving!!  8 Months of bed rest made me appreciate an able Body that can do simple things like make dinner or pack a 2 year to bed.  My kids were doing most all the house cleaning long before they knew WHY they were doing all the house work, I'm sure they were coming home from school wondering why I was in the SAME spot I was in when they left that morning!  But rarely complained and didn't ask why I couldn't clean the bathroom MYSELF!!  :)  Sweet Kids!  Warren got so use to doing things himself he doesn't know how to sit down and let ME wait on HIM, but I'm sure that will come back soon enough!  ;)  My Mom, Cara, Jeri, Stacie, Shari, Kristin and Lena kept my Family fed for the last 5 months!!!!
Cara has been cleaning my house and doing Laundry on a regular basis and I've so enjoyed her visits!!  We're going to have to come up with another excuse to get together often!!
Mom has been up here to stay for days on end to help with kids and catch me up on stuff, Warren would love it when she would come and relieve him of dish duty and he got a fancy breakfast for a change, he got tired of Oatmeal and all my other quick and easy Breakfast dishes!!  ;)
Lena has bent over backwards for us, we've been regulars at her house and I'm not sure we could've made it without her help, Bossy thinks he's a Leak and goes through heavy withdrawals if he doesn't see Kayson every other day AT LEAST!!  I'll be forever trying to get even with everyone!!
The week before Easter was a rough one, Sunday rolled around and I really wasn't feeling good.  Warren and the kids had just left for Church when my water broke (Warren was REALLY glad I stayed home from meetings that Sunday!) but I didn't get into that big of a hurry because I wasn't positive that my water really broke, so I got in the shower then called the Dr on call after I got ready, she went over some things with me and was pretty sure I was broke so she told me to head to the hospital because we were having a baby TODAY!!  So I texted Warren, he left the kids with Lena and we headed out, it was a much calmer trip to the hospital than the others had been, if anyone would've told me that that was how this traumatic Pregnancy would've ended I would've told them they were crazy!  I had all sorts of scary scenarios played out in my mind of how it was going to end!  The labor and delivery wasn't even my worst!
After she was born Warren said, "That was easy, see, we could have another one"......
I told him to start figuring out a way to grow is own Uterus...

Kirby wasn't thrilled at first, he wanted a "boy baby" but warmed up pretty fast and is so sweet with her, if he would only call her by name...  I think he'll always refer to her as "Your Baby"  Kylee is thrilled to have a sister and loves to hold her.  Kylan has really surprised me and is way more into her than I thought he would be, he likes to hold her as much or more than Kylee!
When she was first born her Vernix was coated on so thick it wouldn't come off, it looks like she already has dry scaly skin but it was her coating that wouldn't wipe, it took DAYS before all the traces were gone.  We couldn't agree on a name very easy, I liked Kapree Elizabeth, but Uncle Matt said he would end up calling her "Pants" or "Shorts" and Warren wasn't a huge fan of it either, he liked Kaisley better, why he always gets the final say, I don't know!  I really wanted to come up with something cute from both the Grandmas for her middle but the only ones I could come up with were "Darlene" or "Gayla"!!  So I took the R from my name and A from my Moms and and E from Gaylene's name and did Rae for her middle name.

So sweet!

 Heading Home!!
Since Kaisley was born in the middle of the night they made us stay an extra night. The day I was getting discharged Warren had to be in Idaho for meetings first thing which meant he had to get up and leave me there.  My Mom was coming to get me as soon as she got the kids on the bus but Warren acted like he was abandoning me, I've decided Dads get softer and sweeter as they get older!  With all three of the other kids he brought me home and was there long enough to bring the bags in for me and then he was gone again, with Kirby and Kylan he was gone for days!  So I thought he was a softy being so worried about leaving me over night already.  I will say that we were very glad when he did get home, my kids were needing their Dad pretty bad by the time he got back that weekend!
I Love this picture, she is 7 days old in this one, She has been the best baby!  All she does is eat and sleep, at this rate she's going to be grown out of her Blessing Dress before we get her Blessed!!

Easter

As you probably already know, by the time Easter Weekend rolled around I was a Mess and not feeling very Festive.  If it weren't for Lena my kids would've had an egg hunt in the house and we would've called it good!  So an egg hunt with the Leaks was Heaven sent!  The kids woke up to a "Bunny Trail" of treats from their room to their gifts, Kirby thought that was the neatest thing and still reminds me about when That Bunny dropped treats from his bed CLEAR into the Living Room!  After that bit of excitement we met up with the Leak Family to do the Egg Hunt.

I have struggled with Easter since Kylan was little, I've been known to say I HATE Easter Egg Hunts.  I still get emotional thinking about past years and how hard it's been to watch Kylan struggle and only have a few treats in his basket at the end, and every year it got worse the older he got and the more he realized how much harder it was for him to see stuff than other kids.  I've even racked my brain trying to come up with someway of making it so Kylan didn't feel so different and awkward... I've never had much luck... But leave it to Lena to come up with an idea!  We had Maddie, Kael and Kylan help hide the eggs for the Little kids' hunt and they loved that, it made them feel big.  Then for the Big Kid Hunt we Blindfolded each of them...

 Maddie, Kael & Kylan

And  Lena came up with the idea of putting all their eggs and goodies in a tub full of wood shavings and they had to use their hands to find all their treats... Perfect!  Next year I'm going to use a Sand Box to make it a little harder in a little bigger area, but I'm keeping this as a Egg Hunt Tradition.  I don't know how Maddie and Kael felt about it, but for Kylan it made a world of difference!

Is that really my finger in the road??

This and That

Pinewood Derby was the last week in March, we got our kit the first of March... We were still painting this stupid thing 15 minutes before we were supposed to be at the Church...  Why would we start building our truck any sooner than the day before it has to be done??  I think Warren works best under pressure!   :)

We decided to head down to the Sportsman's Expo to see what it was about, the kids had fun but we decided once was probably enough times to go check that out.

Kirby and I spent the Day with Warren while he was working which equaled alot of time in the Pickup but give Bossy a treat and that kid will be happy doing just about anything!
Kylan and Warren started going to Rope in Malad every Thursday night... This was Kirby thinking he was going too!

Winter in Cache Valley!

It's been such a mild winter, which has been such a blessing in disguise! We've been able to stay busy and out of the house quite a bit, the kids and Warren have done a lot of riding, the kids have played outside after school and everyone is staying sane so far. Luckily, Cache Valley is breaking us in to Northern Winters slowly! If I was cooped up in the house all day with no sun, 6 feet of snow, and roads you couldn't drive on because of 3 inches of ice, plus the kids and Warren cooped up all evening as well, we'd be killing each other by now! So while some are worried about what this mild winter will do to our summer, I'm not going to complain a bit and enjoy every second of it!
These monkeys are two Peas in Pod, they are partners in crime and I'm scared for when they are teens wanting to take the truck and head to town! If they're quiet and you can't see 'em you better be for checking on them because guaranteed they are up to no good!! The only thing that's saving them now is that they are so dang cute! This was a mild play day when I had to go hunt them down and found them in the dog house with the kitty, this was ONE time no damage was done, but I'm sure they caught a case of the FLEAS!! :)

Grandma got an iPad 2 for her Birthday, the kids have had a good time Facetiming with her, and it's going to come in handy when this baby's born and we are far away from everyone!

My Mom came up in January and stayed a while to help out with kids and house work, what a blessing! It was so fun to have her come and visit, the kids loved every minute of it, we went out to eat one night with Cara's family, and on Saturday we went to Hardware Ranch to see if we could see some Elk, it turned out to be a great day to go, they were a ton of elk and they were all close just hanging out. The kids loved it and want to go back, we're going to try and go back if we ever get anymore snow, to see the big bulls, the guide told us you have to go when there is 5 feet of snow on the ground and it's been frigged temps for a week or so. That's the only time the bulls come in, I want Kylan to be able to see a bull somewhat up close, we've seen them in the mountains, but each time Kylan has had such a hard time picking them out because they've been so far away. Kirby definitely won't let us forget about going back either!

The elk were 10 feet away but Kirby still insisted he needed the binocs!

Goal Ball is something Kylan's Mobility Specialist convinced us we needed to try, it's a big sport for the Blind, they even have a Utah team that completes nationally. Carie really wants Kylan to compete in March on the Salt Lake team, this was the first practice we had been to and the first time to even see it played. All the kids have blind folds on, the ball has a bell in it and you try and roll it into the other teams goal. Kylan did so good! He made several goals and blocked several goals, they really want him to compete with them, we'll see how it goes and how interested Kylan is, but as a Mom trying to stay optimistic it was hard to go and be apart of, is that awful of me? But it also made me very grateful for the good vision Kylan does have, the other kids that were there had to walk with a stick for assistance or were completely Blind. I struggled to keep it together to say the least! I'm crying right now just thinking about it again! Oh, Kylan is on the team that's facing me, he has the black shirt on, he's the third player on the right hand side.
My sweet Peepers wrote me this little note after she wouldn't stop hounding me about her Birthday Party in JULY, which is why I told her I'm not worrying about it right now and neither should you! It reads, "Dear Mom, I'm sorry for what I did. We need to get along better!" So cute! We need to work on her spelling a little though!

Baby News

If my Doctor takes her when he said he would I'm at my 5 week count down, Warren keeps telling me to quit planning on it, if I was smart I would. But lets be honest, who wouldn't be excited about the chance to cheat mother nature out of a short 6 weeks?! I really didn't have a lot to report after my last appointment, baby is still growing and staying put which is what we want. The Doctor tested me for Strep B early and sure enough it came back positive, he put me on an antibiotic now instead of waiting in case I do go into labor early, we'll do a dose now and a dose later before my C Section. I want to vent about nerves for a minute... maybe two... The "Butt" nerve as I call it. If anyone comes across a young mother complaining slightly about having Sciatica while Pregnant with her first baby, tell her she needs to run, not walk, to get it fixed! I wish I would've fixed mine as soon as I knew what was going on. 4 pregnancies later I'm so crippled I can hardly move, my Sciatica has gradually gotten worse with each baby. It went from pinching in my final weeks and only on one side and only every once in a while to pinching in the very first few weeks, on both sides ALL the TIME! I've forgotten how it feels to walk without sharp pains shooting from the middle of my back all the way down to my knees! So, like I said, if anyone knows of anyone with Sciatica during Pregnancy to take care of it now so they don't end up like me and thinking, "I'm almost done having babies, I can handle it for one more Pregnancy!" I'm desperate enough right now, if my Doc gives me the go ahead, I'm making a trip to SLC to the Laser guy just to make it through my last few weeks! That's enough whining, Warren paid me a huge compliment the other day to someone he was talking to, they were giving him a hard time about all the cooking and cleaning he was having to do and he laughed and said that really he was very lucky because I wasn't the kind of person to lay around and milk it for all it was worth and that if it was him, he would whine a lot more than I do, what a sweet guy! My next appointment is on the 17th, he said from here on out he would see me every other or every week just depending on how things are going!

Baby Update...

I had a Doctor Appointment today and it went pretty well, I have to say this has been the worst Pregnancy ever! I stress more about this baby than I have all my other babies combined, so it's always a relief to have the Doctor check her over good. She is still growing, which I had convinced myself she wasn't, her heart rate is good and I measure right where I should. So there aren't any concerns with the baby, my Abruption is the same, which is good, at least it's not worse, which I had convinced myself it was...
Anyway he wants to see me in 3 weeks, then another 3 weeks after that, then we'll go to every 2 weeks.
If I make it to 32 - 34 weeks, depending on how things are going and how the baby looks he may take her then, that's only 10 weeks away! Which would make her only 6 weeks early, and that's a lot better than what I've been bracing for so I'd say things are going Great except for the Bed Rest thing... it's getting old... I got caught in Hobby Lobby today... I didn't have Kirby so I thought, I'm running into a craft store BY MYSELF!!! And a Lady from my Ward was in there... she acted like I shouldn't be there... Then Frames were 50% off so I had to call Gaylene and double check a Frame size I needed... She acted like I shouldn't be there either... :) I do so good for the most part... Sometimes I just snap and have a lasp in Judgement!! :)

Happy New Years!

Monday everyone decided they wanted to go and rope the dummy again so that's what we did. I stayed in the Pickup most of the time, got tired of that and decided I needed some pictures, don't ask me where Kylee was because I have no idea, a Friend from school was there so she rode for a minute then took off playing so sadly I have no record of her being there... but she was!

Good Times!
